The Roar Programme - Gabrieli Consort & Players The roar programme gabrieli roar is designed principally for secondary school aged students. we work with a huge variety of choirs, particularly state school choirs, church and cathedral choirs, community choirs and many youth choirs as well as music hubs and academy trusts. Gabrieli roar will soon be announcing their 2024/25 programme, which will include a summer residential course, a performance of verdi’s requiem and a tour of notable uk cathedrals.

King Arthur (Gabrieli Consort And Players) The concert was part of the gabrieli consort’s roar programme. the performance was themed around 17th century christmas music by michael praetorius and heinrich schütz, while the consort themselves also sang some 20th century music by ralph vaughn williams and herbert howells. Entitled ‘re creation’, this project forms part of gabrieli’s nation wide advanced choral training programme – gabrieli roar – culminating in performances of haydn’s the creation in venues across the country and engaging with more than 1,000 singers from uk youth and school choirs. Our week long residential course is open to teenagers aged 14–18 (and younger singers with experience) from schools, youth choirs, church or cathedral choirs, and community groups. together, you’ll develop skills, forge new friendships, and create a truly unforgettable performance experience. Beyond the concert hall, gabrieli is committed to the ongoing development of gabrieli roar, an audacious choral training programme that takes a bold stance on the abilities of teenage singers.

For those unfamiliar with gabrieli roar, it is a partnership between the consort and a network of diverse british youth choirs. led by artistic director paul mccreesh, the initiative combines professionals and young singers, developing skills and nurturing a love of choral music. Fairfield halls are looking forward to welcoming gabrieli consort and players. they will be joined by 100 singers from their gabrieli roar youth choral programme and the polish national youth choir and led by gabrieli's artistic director,paul mccreesh. Led by artistic director paul mccreesh and chorus directors emily dickens & charles béquignon macdougall, gabrieli roar offers a unique mentoring scheme which pairs our professional singers with partner youth choirs and their directors in an ongoing relationship, providing support where it is needed most.
