Unity Learn In this project, you will learn the asset pipeline from unity to maya. you will work through a series of challenges to learn how to polish your assets in maya as well as best practices for importing them back into unity. The following is my example of an art pipeline for creating assets in maya and exporting them to unity. the focus is on ui development, and automating repetitive tasks.
Unity Learn In this project we will generate a model in maya, rig it, animate it, and export it into unity. we will then cut up the animations generated in maya and atta. Pipeline integration with maya learn about the portability of various file types and how to quickly transfer data between maya and applications like substance painter or unity. Unity relies on outside software for tasks such as modeling and texture mapping. learn how to best transfer models from maya to unity. A standard fbx export from maya doesn't always preserve all the animation takes, which can lead to extra work and frustration. i've been exploring different workflows to address this, and i wanted to share a method using maya's game exporter that i've found quite effective. You will learn the 3d pipeline using maya and substance painter, which are industry standard programs used for content creation in game development. you also will know how to add them and work. Maya exports the selected objects or the entire scene to your unity project. if you have the project open in unity, you can access the fbx file immediately. to see it in your unity scene, drag and drop the file from the assets folder in the project browser into the scene view. Much of my work involves managing the maya< >unity exchange of assets, so at the very least i figured i would show off some examples of how you can build on top of an already “streamlined” asset pipeline.
