Maya Transfer Map Problems Polycount You probably want to use an ao bake and or the shaded map option to get your lighting information in your map. you can also mess around with baking a custom map which might give you what you want. When using the send to unity feature in maya lt to export meshes exceeding 250,000 polygons, the following error appears: error: maximum polygon count exceeded.

Maya 2009 Transfer Map Problems Polycount Use the transfer maps editor to generate normal maps and other texture maps like displacement and light maps. the most common application of this tool is in the creation of high performance, real time models where some mesh detail cannot be adequately represented within the polygon limit required. Hello everyone. i've run into some technique issues that i need some help resolving and appreciate any advice. basically, it comes down to grabbing the normals and ao from my high poly mesh and giving them to my low poly mesh (typically maya transfer maps has done this for me). I am trying to ultimately displace some geometrical objects with a simple "bumpy" like texture, and i am continuously running into issues where the detail does not translate onto the object or it simply inflates. I modeled a detailed, high poly box in maya, and i also built a very simple low poly box of the same size and position. i went through all the necessary steps to set up the transfer maps, but when i do the bake, nothing happens to my low poly box.

I'm facing an issue while trying to bake a high poly to a low poly in maya 2020.2. i tried to use the transfer maps and output a normal map, but everytime i bake the uvs seams and the edges become visible on the low poly screenshot attached. Sometimes you’re in a position where you want to transfer texture maps from one mesh to another. it’s fairly simple to do, but requires the materials in maya to be setup correctly in order to avoid any shading issues. I'm currently trying to bake out a normal map in maya using transfer maps. and i have done this many times. never had an issue till now. when i bake out the map it seems to also bake out the edges of the low res mesh. so the final product is the high res normal map detail on top of every square face of the low res. its very strange.
