Displacement Map Troubles Zbrushcentral The smooth uv button, if pressed, determines that uv coordinates are smoothed when the next displacement map is generated. when smoothuv is enabled for generating maps, all uv borders will remain frozen when smoothing. We'll first cover some of the underlying concepts behind how a floating point displacement map works and how to recognize if you're getting correct results. then we'll cover some of the common pitfalls that artists frequently encounter and how to avoid them. In particular, i like to produce complex fine details and noise from materials found on the internet or by using substance designer to define displacement maps. Additionally, it's never a bad idea to use the zmodeler brush to add additional edgeloops, creating "holding edges", near hard corners. it will help prevent them from rounding out when you subdivide.

Smooth uvs: enable 'smooth uv' to prevent any artifacts on the edges of your uv islands when the displacement map is applied. by leveraging these tips, you can ensure that your zbrush models look as detailed and realistic as possible when rendered. Whenever i add my displacement map to my mesh it creates holes on it. i'm not sure if i did something wrong when i exported it out from zbrush or my settings in arnold.
