Bake Problem Unity Engine Unity Discussions Hi , i have been trying to add some basic lighting to my unity scene, but every time i try to bake lightmaps, it gets stuck on ‘preparing bake’. also, the estimated time to complete this stage continuously goes up as i wait after about 5 minutes of waiting, the time has gone from 10 seconds to 4 hours. Short answer : you can't. long answer : change the settings in the lighting tab to use lower values for quick baking times. read the unity manual on the new enlighten lighting system.

Problem After Bake Unity Engine Unity Discussions Although unity says it is preparing to bake, there is already one lightmap ready, and unity is just stucking at preparing bake. a few weeks ago, when the project is bigger in size in the scene, somehow unity can bake it, and now even the scene is smaller, unity can’t bake it. I’m using unity 5.4.2p3. we make a scene and bake lightmaps with the following parameters. we bake the scene with some light sources, and it works great. then i enable a realtime directional light during runtime, but it still affects the static game objects that have been baked. In order to understand what’s going on, we need to see the baked lightmap. you can open objects maps tab in lighting window and switch the preview from albedo to baked intensity (while your mesh is selected) and then, you can see the uvs for your mesh (as shown below). Using urp with adaptive probe volumes and trying to set up two lighting scenarios (day and night) for a day night cycle. each time i bake, it ends up displaying the most recently baked light maps eg: i bake day scenario. i create new night scenario and change light and bake. now both day & night scenarios show night lightmaps. the probe bake looks good itself its just the scenario bake are.
