As far as the printers go, the epson is about twice as fast at the same quality. the epson also has a higher max resolution at 1440x1440 where as the roland is 900x900. since most people don't print higher than 720x720 most of the time, that isn't that big of a difference. Looking at purchasing a new epson printer. one of my holdups is finding profiles that will work with flexi. having a hard time finding any out there. with my mutoh's there are literally hundreds of profiles out there and i have chosen the few that work well for me. i have looked at the printers. With a new modem brought some changes to the lan ip addresses. i use my own router, and plugging that straight back in seemed to work fine for all devices except for the printer connection to epson edge dashboard. my rip and printer talk just fine with new manually paired ip addresses and i can. Many printers have used these print heads (jv3, rockhopper ii, falcon ii, toucan lt, and many rolands as well). you can buy these heads from many online suppliers or through you printers manufacturer. they all have a head rank which needs input into your printer. my question is are these head. Coldesi are just chinese kit printers, nothing wrong with that, but sourcing parts can be a nightmare. still running the printer and having good prints. nice just selling transfers instead of having to the actual garments. i have a scrap epson stylus pro 3880 i am reviving next. refillable carts are way cheaper, and i don't need more software, so might be able to do that one for $300 ish. Ours is negative, compared to the previous experience with the similar type mimaki printers. we owned epson for bout 4 5 years, and in this time had to pay to extend warranty twice, i believe it was $2500 per year. both heads went bad on the 2nd year and had to be replaced under warranty.
